With an early start, we said our goodbyes to Jaime's family, expressing heartfelt gratitude for their warm hospitality. Embarking on the journey back to Quito, we boarded a ship from Baltra Island and then a bus to reach the airport. Along the way, we took a moment to observe the last terrestrial iguana of our trip, bidding adieu to the unique wildlife that had captivated our hearts.

Reflecting on the Expedition: As our team dispersed, each heading back to our respective homes, we carried cherished memories and a profound sense of satisfaction. The Galapagos expedition was an unparalleled experience, leaving an indelible mark on our lives. The engagement with the local community and their commitment to continuing the monitoring of exotic earthworms left an enduring impression. We eagerly await the data that will soon be shared by the locals, knowing that it will contribute to our collective understanding of these invasive species.
